Finally! New Theme Live for February

Ready Designs News

February 1st, 2011

8-Bit New HeartAfter much talk and even more impatience on my part, the new Ready Designs WordPress theme is finally, officially live in time for February.

The previous theme was pretty much just me trying to get something functional and unique online as quickly as possible. Since it was also my first built-from-scratch WordPress theme, it had a lot of room for improvement in both function and form. This theme was built with specific goals in mind and is much stronger for it.

There are still a couple of tweaks I would like to make. For instance, if you are using Internet Explorer you won’t see the CSS3 menu I built. I’ll also be making a mobile style at some point. In the mean time, however, I think the site is ready enough for prime time as-is.

If you catch any bugs or errors, or even if you just have advice where my theme could improve, please drop a comment down below. I’d welcome any feedback.

Finally, now that I’m full-time freelance and have finished the site’s redesign, it’s time for me to start marketing myself a bit more. If you’d like to help out, please hit up the Like button on my newly redesigned Facebook page!

Get ready, here comes the totally new theme! For the rest of today, expect the blog to be a bit wonky while I make adjustments and fiddle around getting things just so.

Ready Designs Redesign Sneak Peek

I’ve been threatening a redesign for weeks now, so I thought I’d toss up a little “mood snippet” (as opposed to a full mood board) as a sneak peek of what’s coming. Enjoy!

New Domain!

Ready Designs News

April 27th, 2010

Hooray! As of today, this site is now on readydesigns.com. Links pointing to the stuff in the old directory should still work, but while you’re reading this it wouldn’t hurt to change any links you might have over to the new URL. That ensures I get the best possible link juice from them as well. I hope I’ve squashed all the bugs that popped up from the domain transfer, but if you find any please do mention them to me so I can fix them.

A huge thank you to Anthony Appleby over at Creative Consortium for being kind enough to part with the domain, and for being such a nice chap throughout the negotiation process. If he’s half as good a programmer as he is a nice guy, I’d recommend him for anything.

Work in Progress

Ready Designs News

February 3rd, 2010

Welcome to Ready Web Designs. This site is a work in progress, being built in my voluminous spare time between a full-time job and my many side-projects. Design of a portfolio page is underway, and soon I’ll be sharing my thoughts on design and development of websites, SEO, and industry news relating to both.
